Omnia's new websites to Pl@za 6

Omnia, the Joint Authority of Education in Espoo Region in Finland, has redesigned its websites with Pl@za^® 6.1 from Teamware Plaza Oy. Main Omnia website can be accessed at www.omnia.fi. Pl@za^® 6 is a website management system for creating dynamic intranet, extranet and internet solutions, and versatile interactive services for them.

In addition to the main public website, Omnia system upgrade and site redesign included Aikuisopisto, Oppisopimustoimisto, Ammattiopisto, InnoOmnia and Nuoten Työpajat websites as well as Omnia's staff intranet with its workspaces. Together with a new modern graphic design, the websites were implemented to be automatically responsive to mobile and other devices using HTML5, CSS3 and Responsive Design standards and technologies. Web services were integrated with Omnia's user directory for centralised user and password management. New educational offerings and course search services were integrated with StudentaPlus course management system.

Omnia's website redesign and implementation project was delivered in a partnership with Otaverkko Oy. Teamware Plaza Oy migrated site content from Pl@za Standard Solution 5 during the Pl@za 6.1 upgrade. In addition to cloud services, Otaverkko maintains required networks and security services for Omnia.

Pl@za 6 is a new website management system which supports Responsive Design implementations, W3C WCAG accessibility guidelines as well as system integration, outside authentication and single sign-on services using common industry standards such as Web Services (XML/SOAP, RESTful), LDAP, OpenSSO, OpenID and CAS. Pl@za 6 also supports SOA architecture as well as portal and portlet standards JSR 168, JSR 170 and JSR 268, and, therefore, fits well for advanced enterprise portal and eDesk implementations.
